Collect Open 2022 Somerset House 25 – 27 February 2022
EARTH comprised a collection of world maps presented as faux archaeological objects. Each piece explores a point, or era, in the past seven generations that has shaped our world view.
Some of the pieces are interactive, either through inviting physical rearrangement or by connecting via QR codes to digital work online. We live everyday with maps reflecting and prescribing how we see the world: from the euro-centric Mercator projection to the user-centric digital maps in our devices. EARTH invites us to question how maps influence our sense of place, belonging and identity.
The exhibition was shown at COLLECT The leading international fair for contemporary craft and design held at Somerset House, London 25 – 27 February 2022
